Bright Futures Music Lessons - Music is defined as vocal or instrumental sounds (or both) combined in such a way as to produce beauty of form, harmony and expression of emotion. Making music involves more than our voice or fingers on an instrument; one must tap into multiple skill sets, often simultaneously. Music learning supports all learning. There is a distinct relationship between music and language development. Neuroscience research has proven that children involved in music have larger growth of neural activity than people not in music training. At Bright Futures, our professional musicians and vocal coaches teach the students how to play an instrument as well as how to sing as a four part choir and soloists. The intrinsic benefits to music education include being disciplined, learning a skill, managing performance as well as respecting the process of learning an instrument, which is valuable on its own.
